‍

When it comes to ecommerce review platforms, Stamped and Yotpo are two of the most popular options available. Both offer a range of features designed to help businesses collect, manage, and showcase customer reviews and ratings. However, there are some key differences between the two platforms that are worth exploring.

‍

‍

πŸ’‘ Our take: ‍

Stamped and Yotpo are both popular reviews platforms for eCommerce businesses. While Yotpo is the larger and more established platform, offering a clean and customizable interface, some users feel it has stopped innovating and complain about its high prices and page speed issues. In contrast, Stamped is praised for its simplicity, affordability, and streamlined user experience, though it may lack some of Yotpo's advanced features and customization options. Stamped also offers unique capabilities like Net Promoter Score surveys, on-brand white-labeling, and shoppable Instagram galleries. Both platforms integrate with major eCommerce platforms and marketing tools, but Yotpo has a more extensive ecosystem of integrations. When it comes to pricing, Stamped offers transparent, affordable plans based on review request volume, while Yotpo's pricing is higher, bundling reviews with other products like loyalty programs. Overall, Stamped is a more cost-effective and user-friendly alternative to Yotpo's broader but pricier platform.

Stamped Overview

Based in Singapore, Stamped (aka Stamped.io) is a popular reviews platform that allows merchants to collect and display product reviews. Like Yotpo, Stamped also offers loyalty and rewards features in addition to its core reviews product. It has a good looking review widget UX and customers are able to respond to review requests directly within an email which is great because it reduces the friction to respond to review requests. It also offers Shoppable Instagram galleries as a nice bonus feature. It's not our top pick since its reviews widget is slower than our recommended tool Okendo. Users also complained of bugs leading to the review management platform crashing. We recommend choosing a point solution for reviews and loyalty and getting best-in-class tools for each.

‍

Yotpo Overview

Yotpo is the largest of the eCommerce review platforms, but we don’t recommend them for most companies. Founded in 2011, Yotpo was one of the earliest review platforms, and they have used that early start to become the dominant reviews platform. However, in conversations with customers, there is a sense that the company has rested on their laurels and stopped innovating. Customers also complain about their high prices and widget which slows page speeds. Customers did like their survey flow which allows for survey responses in the email itself. It also has loyalty / rewards functionality so that you can manage both reviews and loyalty in a single platform, but we recommend using best-in-class offerings for each rather than a single platform.

‍

Stamped Cons

  • Slower reviews widget than competitors
  • Buggy review management platform leading to crashes
  • Pricier than alternatives like Judge.me & Junip

‍

Yotpo Cons

  • Sense that the company has rested on its laurels and stopped innovating
  • Complaints about high prices
  • Widget slows page speeds

‍

User Interface and Ease of Use πŸ› οΈ

One of the first things to consider when choosing a review platform is the user interface and overall ease of use. Yotpo's interface is generally praised for its clean and intuitive design, making it relatively straightforward for merchants to navigate and manage their reviews. The platform offers a range of customization options, allowing businesses to tailor the look and feel of their review displays to match their branding.

Stamped, on the other hand, is often lauded for its simplicity and streamlined approach. While it may not offer as many customization options as Yotpo, many users find Stamped's interface to be more straightforward and easier to use, particularly for those who are new to ecommerce or review management platforms.

‍

Stamped offers more affordable and transparent pricing tailored specifically to review request volume, while Yotpo bundles reviews with other products like loyalty programs at a higher starting price point. Many users have noted Stamped's pricing as a key advantage, allowing businesses to access robust review features at a fraction of Yotpo's cost.

‍

Customer Support and Community πŸ› οΈ

Both Yotpo and Stamped offer customer support channels, including email, phone, and online resources. However, there are some differences in the overall quality and responsiveness of their support teams.

Yotpo is generally praised for its robust customer support infrastructure, with dedicated account managers and a comprehensive knowledge base. The platform also has an active community forum where users can share tips, ask questions, and engage with other merchants.

Stamped's customer support is often described as responsive and helpful, but some users have reported longer wait times or inconsistent experiences. The platform does offer online resources and documentation, but its community presence is not as strong as Yotpo's.

‍

Review Widget Speed

Shopify occasionally gets a bad rap for being slow. Unfortunately, the cause of the slowness is often third-party apps that merchants install on their Shopify sites. We could do a whole future guide on site speed, but for now it’s helpful to know that customer review apps are one of the worst offenders when it comes to slowing down your site. From a performance perspective Stamped is quicker than Yotpo.

‍

πŸ† The Bottom Line: Which Platform is Right for Your Ecommerce Business?

When it comes to choosing between Stamped and Yotpo, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. The best platform for your business will depend on your specific needs, budget, and priorities.

If you're a larger business with a more substantial budget and a need for advanced features like Google Product Ratings integration, robust filtering and segmentation options, and a strong community presence, Yotpo may be the better choice. However, be prepared for a more complex pricing structure and potentially steeper learning curve.

On the other hand, if you're a smaller business or just starting out with ecommerce reviews, Stamped's simplicity, affordability, and seamless integrations with popular ecommerce platforms make it an attractive option. While it may not offer as many advanced features as Yotpo out of the box, Stamped's straightforward approach and user-friendly interface can be appealing for those who prioritize ease of use and cost-effectiveness.

Ultimately, the decision between Stamped and Yotpo will come down to your specific business needs, budget, and priorities. It's always a good idea to thoroughly evaluate both platforms, read user reviews, and potentially take advantage of free trials or demos to get a hands-on feel for each option before making a final decision.
